Veneers:
Veneers are made of porcelain and are permanently bonded to your teeth. They are the most natural appearing and aesthetic procedure you can do to revitalize your smile. Veneers can correct many conditions including gaps between teeth, chips, discoloration, and crooked teeth.
Cosmetic Bonding (Resins):
Bonding is an alternative treatment to porcelain veneers. Although bonding may not last as long as porcelain veneers, these tooth colored fillings help in correcting chipped teeth and discoloration.
Tooth colored fillings: There are two different types of tooth colored fillings that can be done on posterior (back) teeth. The two types of fillings are known as direct and indirect restorations. Direct resin restorations are completed in one appointment and are usually used to treat small cavities. Indirect restorations (inlays or onlays) are made of porcelain and take two appointments.
The advantages of bonding and/or porcelain vs. metal fillings are:
- Life-like aesthetics
- More conservative on tooth
- Minimal risk of allergic reaction
- No metal sensitivity
